Blackened Salmon
Fresh salmon fillets with a blackened seasoning rub, seared until tender and flaky!
Ingredients:
- 4 salmon filets 6 ounce each
- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon dark brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt or ¼ teaspoon table salt
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne powder optional
Directions:
- Combine spices and brown sugar in a small bowl.
- Lay out salmon fillets and coat both sides equally with the seasoning mixture.
- In a 12-inch skillet add olive oil and set over medium heat.
- When the oil is hot add the salmon and cook for about 4-6 minutes per side or until blackened and cooked to your desired doneness. Do not overcook.
